In order to live up to our goal to best meet our customers’ needs and expectations, and in order to gain the greatest possible knowledge of each local area, we have chosen to establish local offices in several places in Denmark and in the rest of Scandinavia.

At this time, we are looking for a shipping enthusiast to join our Swedish cruise team for the Scandinavian cruise season 2022. The position will be based in Visby, but will have close contact with, and receive support from, the Stockholm team.

The position is full time, starting in April, with a duration until August/September 2022.

The business environment is hands-on and involves daily contact with customers, suppliers, local and national authorities, and other business partners.

Main tasks

The operational areas of responsibility vary and are related to coordination, handling, and clearance of arriving cruise ships. SDK Shipping AB will handle approx. 60 cruise ship calls to Visby between April and October 2022. Our role is to assist the ships with pre-arrival notifications to the authorities, such as the Port of Visby, customs and immigrations, local purchases, and assistance to the ship’s crew during the stay in port. Our work is flexible, and it includes being on board the ships, on the pier, and all around town on different tasks. Interaction with, and service of, our customers, as well as business development, are therefore important aspects of the job.

Workload

As our cruise ships can be in port longer than normal working hours, and every day of the week; work outside normal business hours and overtime are to be expected to some extent.

• The right to live and work in Sweden

• Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken, is a prerequisite
